About Sri Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam, Uppal in Opposite Gandhi Statue, Main Road, Uppal, Hyderabad, Hyderabad

Sri Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam is a well noted Pilgrim center in the heart of the city of Hyderabad. Dated back approximately around 500 years, the temple was founded by HH Sri Lakshmana Das Bhagavatar. The west facing (paschima-abhimukha) temple is located on the banks of River Muchikunda (now known as Moosi) - a remarkable resemblance with the erstwhile Bhadrachalam, hence called as "Apara Bhadraadri"

This ancient temple is dedicated to Sri Seetha Lakshmana sametha Sri Ramachandra Swamy. Additionally, there are abodes dedicated to the parivara devatas including Sri Parvata vardhini sameta Panchayatana Sri Ramalingeshwara Swamy, Sri Vagdevi saraswathi, Sri Aanjaneya, Sri Datta Sai and Navagrahas.

The presiding deity, Sri Ramachandra swamy is worshiped as "Satya Murthy", i.e., the up-holder of truth; "Kshipra prasadi" - fulfiller of the deserving wishes, etc.,

Festivals and Rituals : The main festival of the temple is celebrated during the first lunar month (Chaitram) starting from Navami (Sri Rama navami) till Chaturdashi. This varshika brahmotsavams will include the celebrations like Maha abhishekam, Kalyanotsavam, Vimaana-Rathotsavam (Chariot procession) and Chakra-snanam (Vasantotsavam)
