The Rotodyne Engineering Services was established by technocrats, having a vast experience in the power and process industries, in the year 1998.
At that point of time the power and process plants equipments like turbines (Steam; gas, hydel, Nuclear), gear boxes, generators and process equipments like drive turbines, centrifugal compressors was supplied and serviced by multinational companies like Siemens, Alstom, General Electric, LMZ, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Westing house, Ansaldo, Nuovo Pignone apart from BHEL. Though the capital equipments were purchased and installed by manufacturers, subsequent operation & maintenance of the plants have become very expensive because of expensive spare parts and its procurement time, further there was no setup for repairs by most of the companies in India. Repair items were sent to original manufacturers which are located outside the country. Hence the high cost, including sea worthy transportation and further cost of prolonged down time of such equipments. In many cases, due to breakdown of such equipments total plants were under shutdown for long period.
Availability of expert services was non existent especially for trouble shootings and short shutdowns. Further it involved exorbitant costs.
At this point of time we have realized that there is a need to develop these services indigenously and started in house training of personnel and development of facilities.
Presently we have about 600 people working at different location in India at our service sites / projects. We have trained thousands of people who now have become handy for the industries and many are working even abroad.
With this expertise, we have further extended our services to Defence, Nuclear / Atomic energy and development of components, sub-assemblies and assemblies established during the period of restrictions by foreign countries.
Our core areas of functioning are in the following or power plants, Oil &Gas, Fertilizers plants, Steel plants, etc..,
1. Technical support, services for turbine, generator, gear boxes, pumps, compressors and such heavy and precision equipments.
2. Overhauling / servicing / schedule inspections for turbine, generator, gear boxes, pumps, compressors and such heavy and precision equipments.
3. Erection and commissioning for various critical equipments in power plants and process plants.
4. Reverse engineering for components development of drawings including various types of metallurgical & NDT tests and then manufacturing and supplying the same to various PS U's / Govt. companies & Pvt. companies.
5. Repair and retrofitting of equipment for turbine, generator, gear boxes, pumps, compressors and such heavy and precision equipments.
6. These facilities are required for Power plants (Thermal, Gas, Hydel, Nuclear) & process industries like oil Refineries, Petro chemical, Oil exploration industries, Mining (coal), Steel, Aluminum, Chemicals, Paper, Sugar industries, Department of atomic energy and defense industries like Midhani, HAL, Ordinance factory, etc.
