About UMEED in 19-4-332/C-1 Kishan Bag, Hyderabad

Umeed was launched in Hyderabad as a pilot self-help group with the objective of empowering women socially and economically.

Our beneficiaries are women from low-income communities whom we train to make simple, beautiful, and environmentally-friendly newspaper handicrafts. These then undergo stringent quality checks. After successful checks, the products go up for sale.

We also seek to instill habits of saving and budgeting in our beneficiaries, two skills less prevalent among such women. Vis-à-vis they gain experience through training sessions on budgeting, quality control, and other business value chain activities.
