About Shakti Mahila Mandal in haflong, Haflong

Shakti Mahila Mandal is an NGO working for the privileges and right of women, The Organisation was developed in 2006 with an aim to establish An Adult Education Centre with the theme of educating the illiterate women of the society, but gradually seeing the atrocities meted upon the women population of the society by different factors .Shakti Mahila Mandal changed its route to fight for the right and justice of women, in times it had solved many Domestic Violence Cases and stills it is on its way. The Organisation was started by Parbati Thaosen of Sarkari Bagan,Haflong and she leaded the Organisation alone for many years, she with her struggle and dedication brought the name of the organization into a peak, but as time passed many members too joined her,
Shakti Mahila Mandal got registered under (Certificate Of Registration of Societies Act XXI of 1860) in 2012, Now the Work of Shakti Mahila Mandal is not only up to Haflong but in different places of Dima Hasao, It has been Solving many Domestic Violence Cases and Other Cases like Rape, Dowry, Brothelling etc, Not only that Shakti Mahila Mandal had helped many Disaster affected peoples (like the affected peoples from landslide that happened in Mahadev tilla Area which killed a number of peoples helped them by collecting Donations and others needs).
