About Agarwal Gyan Kendra

Agarwal Gyan Kendra works under the aegis of Hiralal Agarwal Foundation (A Regd. Charitable Trust). The aim of Agarwal Gyan Kendra is to provide education through skill development courses to the people of the underprivileged section of the society in order to help them earn a better livelihood.

Currently Agarwal Gyan Kendra currently provides training in two courses as follows:

Courses

1.Advanced Diploma in Computer Proficiency (ADCP) – 2 hours a day, 6 days a week for two months

•Introduction to Software and Hardware
•MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Multimedia, Internet, Email


2.Tally Accounting – 2 hours a day, 6 days a week for five months after completion of ADCP –

•Get familiar with the basic features of Tally.
•Understand the complete accounting cycle, starting with transactions and ending with financial statements.
•Learn to process simple transactions, set up related accounts, documents and prepare financial statements.
•Learn to design, set up and manage accounting systems for Service Organizations using Tally.
•Learn to design, set up and manage accounting systems for Trading Organizations, in Tally.
•Learn to manage inventory.
•Understand the methods to account for Sales and Purchases in a Trading Organization.
•Understand the complete accounting cycle (from entering transactions to generating financial statements/reports).
•To set up related accounts and prepare financial statements.

Funding

Hiralal Agarwal Foundation, a USA based charitable family foundation, established by Mr. Bhasker Deo Agarwal and his family, provides the funding to Hiralal Agarwal Foundation of India for the operation of Agarwal Gyan Kendra.

Accomplishments

We have enrolled over 550 students over the last few years. Out of which about 100 students enrolled in Tally and about 450 enrolled in ADCP course which is equivalent to Course on Computer Concepts (CCC) course. About 30 students have obtained employment after learning Tally. Quite a few students joined other courses after completing Tally as they had other career aspirations.

Currently we have 5 batches of 20 students enrolled and we can have a capacity of 8 batches with addition of little more resources.
