Rotaract is an international youth organization that undertakes the process of creating responsible citizens of the world to bring about the positive change. The organisation is made of young adults in the age category of 16 through 30 years. It’s a parallel world from those who believe they can make a difference. The purpose of Rotaract is to empower young men and women with an opportunity to enhance knowledge and skills that will assist them in their self development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote harmonious relations amongst all people worldwide through commonly shared emotions of friendship and service.

Rotaract District 3142 is the organisation of Rotaract Clubs which is to be created w.e.f. July 1, 2016 in light of the bifurcation of the present Rotaract District 3140, one of the most active youth movements in and around South East Asia. Rotaract 3140 (Rotaract Mumbai) has been actively involved in promoting ideals of peace, harmony and community welfare across the entire metropolitan region for the last forty-six years. The Rotaract District 3142 is to consist of over 36 active Rotaract Clubs and approximately 2000 Rotaractors from Thane-Bhiwandi to Badlapur and Navi Mumbai. Now, Rotary-Rotaract Skill development Centre will be an ongoing initiative to make the youth of our community employed by imparting skill-based vocational training to them. RRSDC will act as a HUB for skill development of not only Rotaractors but also to those people who want to get trained to become a part of the corporate world. While launching the National Mission for Skill Development 2015, Indian Prime Minister acknowledged that “India currently faces a severe shortage of well-trained, skilled workers. It is estimated that only 2.3% of the workforce in India has undergone formal skill training”. To make efforts in this direction, RRSDC seeks to provide the underutilized youth with skill development training enabling them to tackle ever-emerging social and economical challenges.

We believe in empowering the marginalized youth by presenting them with opportunities through vocational skill training, promoting entrepreneurship and development of micro enterprises. Besides equipping the youth with essential skills and up-grading existing skill-sets, they will be provided appropriate placement support, in tune with current market needs and demands. To increase awareness and self-confidence, RRSDC will mobilize needy students, working youth, school & college drop out youth to form bifurcated batches, where they can be collectively trained in the area of their interest. Through the tailored made modules on Skill Development at RRSDC, the challenge of unemployment and underemployment will be carefully tackled, thus improving the quality of life for the community.
