About Assam Students Association Delhi - ASAD in Indra Vihar, GTB Nagar, Delhi

The people of Assam have travelled, migrated, settled in various parts of the globe. These groups of Assamese population across the globe some how remained intact to their roots. Wherever, they are, they formed Assamese Associations.

Within India, one of the prominent and oldest Assamese Students Associations being the Assam Students Association Delhi which was formed in the year 1973. With the increase in the Student population of Assamese people in Delhi, the association formally got its motive to serve and unite all the assamese students in one roof. The year round activities and celebrations of Assamese festivals are mostly being organized by Assam Students Association Delhi.As it is the oldest of it kind when we talk about nort-east of India. Renowned people like Shri Podut Bordoloi (Coengress man of Assam, Former ASAD member),Late Mamoni Roisom Goswami (Social activist , Journelist, former HOD at Assamese Dept. Delhi Universirty, ASAD advisor)and Angarag Mahanto (Renowned singer, Former ASAD cultural secretory)showed all of us the way, now is the time to be united and march forward as one team.
