Central School for Tibetans, Happy Valley Mussoorie comes under Central Tibetan School Administration, Delhi, an autonomous organization, under MHRD, Government of India. This school is a dream school of H H the Dalai Lama. His Holiness and Pandit Nehru founded the school way back in 1960, when His Holiness was accommodated in Birla Niwas in Happy valley. Since then, the school has done a tremendous progress in all sphere of education. Several alumnus of the school are looking after the administration of the CTA Dharamsala, many of them are well positioned in India and abroad. The school at present is fully equipped with all modern facilities of education. Tibetan community has a great expectation from this school which is always been fulfilled by the school administration and CTSA in all these years. Presently the school is having about 600 students out of that about 10% Indian local students are also getting education. The school is well known for its unique culture, heritage and discipline. All three major streams are taught in senior secondary level. CCA and Sports have been playing very important role in the development of the school children. Being a residential school students have ample opportunity to excel in different fields of learning.
