The Institute of Communicational Excellence was established in 2014 as a nonprofit institute to train under privileged undergraduates in improving their communication skills by organizing mock interviews and mock group discussion which are essential for their campus recruitments. Campus recruitment is the only chance to get a job with a decent pay and social respect for most students. In a world with shrinking opportunities due to the stagnant economy and increased automation, the students hailing from underprivileged background are at great disadvantage against their well to do peers. Students having a good technical knowledge and field experience are put at great disadvantage when they are not able to communicate their ideas in English during their recruitments. Their lack of English fluency, interpersonal skills and content management greatly impairs their competitiveness and their confidence while facing an interview. These inherent disadvantages are due to the ineffective education system which does not give them any opportunity to converse and comprehend in English in their academic life. Social oppression and chronic family hardships have completely drained their confidence to face the life. Our approach is to train the student to develop their confidence, communication skills, language and subject knowledge through practical exercises and speaking sessions. We have trained more than 1000 students through weekend and evening classes between 2014 and 2015
In 2016 a charitable trust – Shirley Chatelier Education Trust was constituted in honor of Shirley Chatelier - a teacher of the extraordinary dedication and highest integrity. Through the trust we are able to continue our free training classes and take a professional approach in conducting the affairs of the institute. We have been working with private consultants, corporate, schools, colleges and other educational institutes in providing creative activity based workshops on advance personality development topics such as design thinking, thinking out of the box, team management, leadership, faculty development, latest technologies in teaching etc. We have trained over 800 students in our flagship program “Strategic Communication”. Strategic Communication is effectively conveying the right information in a world with ever expanding information and shrinking opportunities. This program is designed to provide graduates with the necessary techniques to hone their skills in communication and content management which will ensure their success in campus recruitments and to kick start their professional career.
