Traditional Chinese acupuncture has a history about 5000 years. A Universal Energy form Known as “Chi” flows in specific channels throughout the body .These channels are known as acupuncture meridians .There are 12 main coupled meridians in the body. They are named after the organs. According to acupuncture theory all diseases and psychological disorders, etc. are caused by energy imbalance in these 12 Acupuncture Meridians causing excess or deficiencies of energy in specific channels.

In the Early 1950’s Dr.Yoshio Nakatani of Japan developed a method of examining the meridian system of human body through electronic instruments , he called this method as Ryodoraku : Ryo{good} do{electrical conductive} raku{line} , ie. Good Electrical Pathway.

The hand and foot meridian were measured at particular points on wrists and ankles , commonly knowns as “source points” or “yuan points”. Today these points also called as Nakatani Points .

By measuring the conductivity of each meridian energy excess and deficiencies could be located and charted. In 1980’s another researcher Dr. Kobei Akabani of Japan developed a novel way to measure meridian energy using Jing -Well {T-sing} points using Moxa {TCM}. He gave number of strokes until the required energy level was obtained. Jing- Well points Graph measure the General Energetic Balance of the meridian as do source point graphs.
The Jing -Well points are connection points to the Musculotendino meridians may tends to reveal imbalances associated with musculoskeletal complaints and chronic conditions.
Tsing point graphs don’t show as much variability as source point graph, but the variability they show is clinically important .

In 1950’s Dr.Rainhold Voll M.D of Germany , developed an electronic testing device for locating acupuncture points and showed that the points were electronically active. Dr.Voll would graph a patient without the medicine bottle and got consistent result .He would then graph the same patient , while holding the medicine bottle and got totally different result. He assumed there is an electromagnetic energy emitted from the substances that travels along the electric circuit of the body. His work eventually lead to EAV {Electro-Acupuncture by Voll} and he created a machine called the “DERMATRON”.

In 1982 Dr. John .A.Amaro from North America first to develop a rudimentary software program which was called “ Electro Meridian Imaging ”.
