About Marina Arena in Raja Muthiah Road, periyamet, Chennai

The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, commonly nicknamed the Marina Arena is a multipurpose stadium and has a capacity of 40,000. It hosts football, and athletic competitions. The stadium is named after Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister. The stadium hosted nine Test Matches between 1956 and 1965.

The stadium is located at Sydenhams Road, Park Town behind the Chennai Central suburban Railway station and Rippon Building.The whole area was where the old Madras Zoo was located before it shifted to its present location at Vandalur. This Stadium has connectivity to all Parts of the City By Bus and Three Train Stations which is very close access to it(CentralSuburban,Park and Upcoming Central MetroStation)
