About Sri Vasavi Yogashram in Govindappa Naiken street 106, Chennai

D. Balaji follows the traditional Hatha Yoga teachings of Sri Sri Sri Satchidananda Yogi, whose previous name was Acchudharamaya.
He was born in Vishakapatnam in a very poor family and he was a taylor. One day, while he was sewing, a pair of scissors fell onto one of his legs, causing him a serious injury. He went to the hospital where they were unable to treat him. Some people from the village then told him to go to a naturopathic hospital. He went there and he rapidly recovered. In that place, called Sri Ragavendra Swamy Naturopathic Clinic, yoga was also taught and the young man took so much interest in the subject, that he decided to stay there. He never returned to the village of Rajayapetta, continuing to follow the teachings of guru Ragavendra. A few years later, a villager of Rajayapetta was elected a member of the Delhi Parliament and decided to ask Satchidananda to teach yoga there.
At the time he knew 128 yogasanas that he taught and practiced. Subsequently he moved to Madras, where he taught yoga to the local marwali vaisha community, in a very small place. Next, these people took him to a bigger place where around a hundred people used to come each day, and he started to celebrated pujas. One day a French traveller asked the Master to become one of his students and he invited him to teach in France. After that he visited many foreign countries, for four-six months per year.
Sri Sri Sri Satchidananda Yogi is considered a saint by some people. Although almost a hundred years old, he devoted to disciples and to students passing by every morning of his life teaching this science of the Soul.
Testifying through samadhi, burial and two-years fast to be worthy of the name Swami, which means he who masters himself, he kept silence for about forty years passing with generosity information about practices and for advancing on the spiritual planes.
