About Church of the Holy Eucharist - Thirumullaivoyal, Chennai in No.25, R.C Church Road, 8th Cross Street, Thendral Nagar West, Thirumullaivoyal, Chennai

This is a unit of Madras-Mylapore Archdiocese and this Parish Church is headed by Parish Priest Rev.Fr.L.Antony Doss. It has 350 Roman Catholic families.

Till the year 2000, there was no organized Christian Community in Thirumullaivoyal. Some of the Catholics who were residing in this place attended the Church in St.Joseph Parish at Ambattur. With the support of the Archdiocese of Madras-Mylapore, a few families of Thirumullaivoyal and some interested parishioners of Ambattur Parish organized funds and purchased nearly 5 grounds of land. Now it consist of nine full grounds.

Initially a Parish Office was built on this land. Then Auxiliary Bishop of Madras-Mylapore, Rt.Rev.Dr.Lawrence Pius DD laid the foundation stone for further construction. By 2005, then Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, Dr. A.M. Chinnappa SDB named this new parish as Church of the Holy Eucharist in commemoration of the ‘Year of the Holy Eucharist’ which concluded in a grand celebration at Besant Nagar Shrine on 16th October 2005. This Parish Church is the only Church dedicated to the Holy Eucharist throughout Tamil Nadu of it kind.

The speciality of this Holy Eucharist Parish Church is that it is sited in the center of this village. In this Parish Center, there are Women Development Programmes such as Tailoring Institute, Self-Help Groups, LIC - JBY Group Policies, Type-Writing, Machine Embroidery and so on. For the Children, there are Day-Care Center, Play School, Creche, After-School and Evening Tuitions too.
