History of DON BOSCO SCHOOL

Don Bosco Matriculation School was established in the year 1992 at Karanodai, a village in Thiruvallur District on the outskirts of Chennai, in Tamilnadu.

Fr.K.P Joseph who worked for the poor felt the need of educating the children of the remote villages who had no facility to study in the elite schools. Thus, he started thi s school in a tiny shed with a handful of students. It has now grown into a mighty institution catering for about 1700 students with an efficient team of 70 staff at present.

Fr.K.P.Joseph handed over the school to the Sisters of Charity, a religious congregation that serves the poor all around the globe, in schools, hospitals, orphanages, home for the aged and are also engaged in other social activities. The founder left the world for his heavenly abode on March 12, 2005.

History of St. Bartolomea



Bartolomea Capitanio (1807 – 26 July 1833) born in Lovere, Italy , the foundress of a Catholic religious institute- The Sisters of Charity of St. Bartolomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa (SCCG).

Bartolomea was seventeen when she first became acquainted with Vincenza, a fellow native of Lovere. They started their congregation to teach the young and nurse the sick, following the principles of Saint Vincent de Paul.




Regulations of the School
All the students are expected to be present for the School Assembly daily.
All should come in full uniform. No jewels are allowed inside the school campus.
Students are advised to speak in English in the School Campus.
Doctor’s Certificate is required when a student needs exception from attending Physical Education Class, Karate, Yoga or any other Extra Curricular Activity.
Any damage done within the school campus by the student has to be compensated by the offender.
Things that are not related with the school syllabus, cell phone etc., are strictly forbidden in the school.
Gifts and donations to the staff are not allowed.
Students are taught to be sincere in all their dealings. Forging the signature, altering marks and copying during the exams will be dealt with seriously.
All communication should be addressed to the Principal and not to the class teacher.
Students are not allowed to communicate with the parents or visitors in the school! Without permission from the Principal.
Parents are kindly requested not to speak to any student without the sanction from the school authorities.
Students will not be sent home during the school hours, except at unavoidable circumstances. At such occasions they will be sent only with the parents.
If the parents need to meet the class teacher, inform the office at 3.30 p.m. and wait in the open shed. They are not allowed to go to the class room at any time.
Parents are requested to follow the progress of their children from the very beginning itself. Provide a conducive atmosphere for them to study at home. Be present on all the Open Days.
Kindly come on time to pick up your children in the evening. Wait in the shed till the bell.
The Principal shall have the right to place the student in any section of the class in the interest of his/her studies
