School's History

The untiring efforts of Sri. N. Singaram Pillai coupled with the cooperation of many other educationalists, made the school grow constantly taking it to the level of being one of the greatest schools in Chennai
The poor people in & around Villivakkam joined the school, grabbing the opportunity of getting educational benefits
As a result of the encouragement given by the management and the hard work of the teachers, the small school grew up to be a Middle school in 1932 with classes up to Std 8. The fame of the school spread & won the admiration & appreciation of the public leading to more number of admissions year after year.
The praiseworthy school become a high school in 1940. in those days it was the biggest and most famous Co-educational school in Chengalpet district .Since 1967 it functions as Singaram Pillai boys school and Singaram Pillai Girls school separately , they can be rightly called as twins. In 1978 the boys school become a higher secondary school

At present the school started by Sri. N. Singaram Pillai as a single one has risen to four schools namely

Singaram Pillai Boys higher secondary school
Singaram Pillai Matriculation Higher secondary school


All the four schools are spreading the light of knowledge, enticing more and more children to join and enlightenment.

As the generous leader died early, his son Sri. N.S. Pinagapany took charge of being the first correspondent of the school, His dedication to the cause of education was even better, Under his leadership The school climbed upwards in the ladder of celebrity . He strove to improve the facilities in the school to impart a quality education. As he completed his nine decades of his life in this planet he became physically weak AND handed over the responsibility to his son Mr. N.P. Viswanathan, After a life long hard work and service to the community Sri N.S. Pinagapany died in the year 2007,
