About Ramanujan Mathematics Society in DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh

Ramanujan Mathematics Society was founded by the undergraduates and graduates of the DAV 10 associated with mathematics department with support of our worthy teachers. The main aim to initiate this society is to free the students from the fear of mathematics. It aims to develop interest of the students in Mathematics and the joy of learning it.
Talking about the name of the society, I would like to share something about Ramanjuan.
" The achievements of Srinivasa Ramanujan doesn't need any introduction. Despite his lack of formal education and a short life span, he has made a remarkable contributions to the field of Mathematics. Bruce C Berndt worked dedicatedly on Ramanujan's Notebooks for nearly two decades after his death and resulted in Ramanujan's Notebooks published by Springer-Verlag in five Parts. In these books he quoted ``Paul Erdos has passed on to us Hardy's personal ratings of mathematicians. Suppose that we rate mathematicians on the basis of pure talent on a scale from 0 to 100, Hardy gave himself a score of 25, Littlewood 30, Hilbert 80 and Ramanujan 100''. Thus the name of the society is aptly chosen to motivate the students that Indians too can be the great mathematicians.
