About B.J.B. Junior College in BJB Nagar, Bhubaneswar

The College is named after Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Bhramarabara Roy, who as a leader of the Paika Rebellion of Orissa in 1817, sought to overpower the colonial administration. He continues to be the beacon-light for those who wish to understand what it means to fight for freedom, equality and human dignity.

Started as Science College in 1957 and renamed as B.J.B. Junior College in 2001, this institution has come a long way overcoming many hurdles and crossing many milestones. This institutions got an independent status from August 2007. Today it stands as a pillar of pride churning out thousands of students every year.

The college crest comprises of five distinct symbols : The Temple, two crossed swords, the Atom, the Book and the Lamp. Besides, it carries India's National Adage : “Satyameva Jayate” as its fundamental value.
