About Swami Vivekanand Library in GTB Complex,Rosanpura, Bhopal

The Swami Vivekanand Library is an initiative by the State Government of Madhya Pradesh to provide a state of the art Library and Resource center for the people of Madhya Pradesh.

The Library has been established with an objective to carry on the work of the erstwhile British Library in Bhopal and take it further with the following Aims, Objectives and Functions.

Aims, Objectives and Functions

The basic aim of the Swami Vivekand Library will be to impart information on Education (Foreign and Indian) and to maintain a library (English) with international standards.

It will also be responsible for holding seminars, workshops, Training Programs of various national and international Exams, Education and Information resources.

The main objectives are

To provide a state of the art library to the people of Bhopal and MP, which would cater not only to the needs of the elite but also to the general public, the young audiences and kids by providing world class infrastructure, books, DVDs, journals, newspapers etc.

To enable the people of Bhopal and the State of Madhya Pradesh to keep abreast with the latest information in this era of knowledge economy

To cater to the needs of those students and individuals interested in either studying abroad or studying in the landmark institutes of India.

To cater to the needs of those students who want to appear in various national and international competitive exams and exams for value additions in their careers.

To undertake projects on areas like Personality Development, ELT and other possible areas to make the students of the State of M.P. employable.

To standardize the other libraries within the State of Madhya Pradesh.
