MUSIC ARRANGING is the art of decorating a melody by using Chords/Harmonising the melody, writing Counter melody/counter-point,choosing a particular form/style of music.
Orchestration is the art of Using 1) the right solo intrument or a section-- like woodwind section,brass section and string section--for the foreground material/theme/solo's. 2) using the right instruments for the middle ground/counter melody. 3) Using the right instruments for background material....Foreground is generally the solo's, middle ground is the counter melody and background is accompaniment--which is the chord pattern or the harmonic rhythm.
