Ours is a 15 year old organic mango plantation situated in Hospet, Bellary district in Karnataka, INDIA, organically certified by Apof Organic Certifying Agency(AOCA) AOCA is a non-profit organization which has been accredited by the National Accreditation Body of India through APEDA for providing Inspection and Certification services as per NPOP. AOCA certifies that the products and areas of the plantation are in accordance with requirements of India's National Programme for Organic Production Standards (considered equivalent to Council Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007and Swiss Organic Farming Ordinancefor plant products originating in India). The Organic Certification No. is ORG/SC/1403/000574 issued on 27/03/2014. The entire area is fully planted and drip irrigated with two bore-wells with water source at 35th feet (with more than 2.5inch yield). 3 Phase electricity connection is available with one transformer for KEB (Karnataka Electricity Board) inside the plantation. The farm is planted using specially engineered triangular marking pattern. This is an organic plantation which uses compost made of clay from the valley, cow dung & sheep dung; these are applied twice in a year. Flood irrigation facility is also provided. The entire boundary is planted with the above mentioned Teak, Rosewood, Survey trees, Neem, Compost trees etc. It is completely organic as we don't use/apply pesticide or fungicide. There are three rain water harvesting ponds within the plantation. There is a path-way along the center of the plantation which divides the plantation into two sections. On either side of the path-way, we have plots of 1 acre each. We have a 2BHK farmhouse in the center of the plantation and we have a skilled labor maintaining the whole plantation.
