There was a time, nearly 45 years ago, when you could see Varthur Lake from the old farmhouse in Whitefield, now know as Lake View Farm. Starting in 2008, the owners began to rent space to stores and services allowing them to keep the exquisite greenery intact. Come walk around and you’ll see stores selling everything from organic groceries and handicrafts to home decor. Services are also provided including a nail salon, a dermatologist and a travel agent. The space also houses offices, including Studio ABD of award-winning design entrepreneur, Abhijit Bansod. Each one fits perfectly into the setting, surrounded by flowering plants, creepers and fruit trees, with a huge open, grassy space in the centre of the area that can be used to host receptions of any kind, including weddings.
