About Dhanjibhai Sorathia in , Anjar

Dhanibhai Sorathia’s journey began in the town of Anjar in North West Gujarat’s Kuchchh district. Born on the 18th of August 1956, Dhanjibhai Sorathia is son of Maliben and Naranbhai Sorathia. Dhanjibhai Sorathia’s childhood was one of immense struggle and difficulty. As a youngster he supported his family by doing farming at own farm to make ends meet.

Yet, these difficulties did not discourage Dhanjibhai Sorathia. But effected on his study and he had to drop his study in 7th Standard to support his family in living life. But it never prevent him to gain knowledge from reading books, theses, Historical Data and learning something new. From his younger days, Dhanjibhai Sorathia was drawn towards serving the society. He always attend socio-cultural organisation devoted to the development and oppose the immoral effects. Being Social activist he had to travel all over India, giving him a first-hand experience of India’s variety, people’s joys and their problems.

However, it was not until 1983 that Dhanjibhai Sorathia’s first encounter with politics happened. In 1983 he was asked to work for the Indian National Congress (INC) and became the Vice President of Anjar Nagarpalika. In the next few years he was assigned with the responsibility of President in Anjar Nagarpalica. His legislative work during his tenure, won the trust and confident of Central Congress Party Committee and Shri Rajiv Gandhi endorsed him and assigned as Counsellor and opposite party Leader for Anjar Nagarpalica. He served his devotional services for the benefit and wellness of Anjar constituency family.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution towards the Party Organisation, Dhanjibhai Sorathia was offered and endured his exceptional services as the Director in Anjar APMC market to give direct justice to farmers and Pandemonium. Also he was appointed as Director in Taluka Kharid Vechan Sangh Limited. He has been devoting his services to VIDI Anjar Khedut Seva Sahkari Mandli since 1984 to till date as Vice President and President.

Dhanjibhai Sorathia did not waste a single minute and got down to work, bringing the Anjar Nagarpalica on its feet. During his reign, Anjar Nagarpalika has claimed and collected 98% tax and awarded by State Government with the prize money of ₹ 1,25,000.

Even during the hardest time of Kuchchh when massive earthquake hits Gujarat having its epicentre in Centre of Kutchchh, opposition government Chief Minister Shri Keshubhai Patel had putted trust on Dhanjibhai Sorathia and had given him responsibilities for rehabilitation of Anjar and Kachchh people. He dominated his life and serve 24x7 day and night to help wounded and homeless Kachchh peoples.

Today, when opposition parties’ government ruling by dint of money and with full of ablaze corruption, Dhanjibhai Sorathia has decided to lead the movement to expel the BJP Rule from Anjar and Gujarat. With the Mantra of ‘Congress Aavse, Sukhakari Lavse’ and “Ame Kashu Nathi Bhulya”, Shri Dhanjibhai Sorathia led Team Congress towards all-round and all-inclusive movement to defeat and expel the BJP’s Gundaraj & Principality.

Anjar People have hearty hope to get announced Shri Dhanjibhai Sorathia’s name as Principle Candidate for the Anjar Constituency in 2017’s Gujarat Assembly election, so that they can once again see the face of wellness and happiness!
