IRMA, in tandem with its vision, has been promoting sustainable, ecologically-friendly and the equitable socio-economic development of rural people through professional management. While IRMA’s contribution to rural development has been commendable huge scope exists for social entrepreneurs in the field of rural management. Besides innovative not-for-profit ventures social entrepreneurship can enfold within its umbrella social purpose business ventures including for-profit community development banks and hybrid organizations combining elements of both.
iSEC (IRMA Social Entrepreneurship Cell) was inaugurated in July 2012 with the efforts of PRM33 and since then it continues to spread the spirit of ideating, discussing and implementing innovative socially relevant ideas. This social entrepreneurship cell has been envisioned as the launching pad for innovative and comprehensively designed development interventions by its members. It gives impetus to the mission of IRMA by facilitating the creation of effective and scalable organizations, mainly social organizations. iSEC derives its values and motivation from the sacrosanct legacy that the India’s milkman has left behind.
