About Learn Ahead in ZHCET, AMU, Aligarh

I am Mohammad Saqib, a student pursuing B tech in the branch of electrical engineering. This is a description of so called project learn-ahead. Let me tell you from the beginning. During the first year of B tech study, I felt the need of availability of recorded lectures which I could have watched before class lectures as according to me it’s easier to understand and remember what teacher says if you already have a gist of the topic. I searched the web for the same but was unable to find the lectures which I needed because either the lectures were of higher standards or they were not available at a single well organized place. Then it came to my mind that why don’t we ourselves record lectures addressing B tech courses so that coming students don’t face the problems that we have faced. I discussed about this with my colleagues and all were of the opinion that there should be something which could bridge this gap. Hence, there comes the idea of project learn-ahead.
So, Learn-ahead is a project under which wide range of individuals from ZHCET will record their video lectures addressing B tech courses. The aim of this project, as the name signifies itself, is to well equip the students with sufficient knowledge in advance.
As far as recording video lectures is concerned, it’s not a new task. There is already a ocean of it available. But our aim is to make a little difference by making a class of lectures which are relevant, systematic and easier to understand by a beginner. A student could watch learn-ahead lectures before he reads a topic or attend a class lecture. This will help him in getting the language of the subject and in assimilation of knowledge.
The second more important thing we will do is that, not only we will record lectures but we will also selectively sort out suitable lectures which have already been recorded by different people around the globe and will share their link, so that you don’t waste time in hunting for lectures on the web.

Initially our aim is to cover the basic things. But if we got enough feedback and support, and if the project gained enough momentum then we will look forward to provide you more stuff.
