About Dhola-Sadiya Bridge in Dhola, Tinsukia

The Dhola–Sadiya Bridge is the
longest bridge in India and
spans the Brahmaputra River to
connect the states of Assam and
Arunachal Pradesh. It is 9.4
kilometres (5.8 mi) in length.
Construction began in 2010
under the aegis of the Ministry
of Road Transport in
partnership with Nayayuga
Engineering Company Ltd.
The bridge is scheduled to
become operational from
December 2015. The project cost
around 8.76 billion rupees and
took around five years to
complete. It is 3.55 kilometres
(2.21 mi) longer than the sea
link over Mahim Bay in Mumbai
making it the longest bridge in
India .
The bridge reduces the travel
time from Assam to Arunachal
Pradesh by four hours.
