Play and learning are synonymous. Play is meaningful learning. When children play, there is a lot that happens though only a little meets the eye of the onlooker. Sometimes they are exploring new things. Sometime they are practising a skill.sometimes they are building a new bond. Sometimes they are strengthening an existing one. Sometimes they play simply for fun and enjoyment, bringing their own interpretations of situations,events,experience and expectations to their play. With play , every moment is a spontaneous learning moment.

Play is the way young children learn and develop ideas about the world and how it works, , acquire the skills of critical thinking and leadership, learn to solve problems and feel good about their ability to learn.Play helps develop self-regulation, language,cognition and social competence. When children are given a chance to engage in self-initiated play and exploratory learning, they become highly skilled in the art of self-education and self reflection.play builds a strong foundation in pre-academic thinking, equipping them for skills training as they progress from one level to another in their formal schooling years.

At Yatra, we have created a healthy balance between a learning space that is rich in child initiated play in which your child explores the world through play with the active presence of the facilitator and a playful classroom with focussed learning as the teacher subtly supports learning with enriching experiential activities. While most of the learning in the kindergarten occurs through open–ended experiences, these will be complimented by some teacher initiated activities in the form of group or individual activities, thereby offering your child the opportunity to explore curriculum areas for instance, Language( stories,poetry,story enactment), Music/Movement( string/percussion,action songs and games). Circle times offer an ideal platform for your child to reflection on and share experiences, ideas and theories with one another.
